Valentine's Day Heart Shaped Chocolate Chip Cake Ball Pops #Recipe

Heart Shaped Chocolate Chip Cake Ball Pops are a fun and tasty treat to gift this Valentine's Day.  Who can resist a bouquet of cake pops?    These cake ball pops have almost a chocolate chip cookie dough taste about them, so you may have difficulty stopping at just one!

Ingredients
  • 1 box white cake mix
  • 1 box (3.4 ounces) instant french vanilla pudding mix (you can use regular vanilla as well)
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 cup water
  • 1/3 cup vegetable oil
  • 1/2 can of vanilla frosting
  • 1/2 cup mini semisweet chocolate chips
  • Melting chocolate discs or chocolate almond bark
  • flour
  • Heart shaped cake pop press (I bought mine on clearance last year after Valentine's Day)
  • Lollipop sticks
  • Sprinkles (optional)
Directions
  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Spray one 13 inch cake pan and lightly dust with flour.
  • In a large bowl combine the cake mix, pudding mix, eggs, water and vegetable oil and mix well. Pour mixture into cake pan
  • Bake for 30-5 minutes or until toothpick comes out clean.

  • Once cool, crumble cake mix into bowl. Add in frosting and chocolate chips. Form into balls and chill for about two hours
  • Melt chocolate in crock-pot, double boiler or microwave.  I use a crock-pot as it  keeps the chocolate warm and a consistent temperature.
  • Takes chilled balls and press into heart shaped pop press and insert sticks.

  • Dip the cake balls into chocolate and top with sprinkles.

Tip for easy way to store cake balls while they are hardening is to pick up Styrofoam blocks at the Dollar Tree and stick the pops in there while they harden up!
