Thanksgiving Pilgrim Hat Cookies #Recipe

With the weather turning all cold and rainy, the kids are going to get stir crazy. Why not have fun in the kitchen with them making a Thanksgiving Day treat! These Thanksgiving Pilgrim Hat Cookies are so cute, easy to make and super yummy!

To make these adorable hats you will need:
  • Reese's Peanut Butter Cups (Small Size)
  • Reese's Pieces
  • Keebler Fudge Stripe Cookies
  • Frosting
  • Food Coloring
  • Piping Bag or sandwich bag

Instructions:

  1. First you will want to mix your frosting with the food coloring. I put a little in a bowl and added food coloring to it and mix till it is the color you are wanting. I did yellow and a light orange for mine. Put your frosting in a piping bag ( I used a sandwich bag with the tip cut off).

  2. Next lay your cookies face down on some wax paper. Then pipe out a circle around the center whole of the cookie.

  3. Place the peanut butter cup on top of where you put the frosting. Then pipe around the peanut butter cup.

  4. Next get a Reese's Pieces and place a little frosting on one side and stick it to the peanut butter cup.
Seriously how cute are these cookies and a fun way to spend some time with the kids!

Gobble Gobble!!! Jolly Rancher Turkey Suckers are perfect for #Thanksgiving treats and table decor! #Recipe

Getting ready for Thanksgiving? These turkey suckers are just the "sweetest"! They are easy to make with just a few ingredients. They are perfect treat for a school party or to use as festive table decorations!

Ingredients

  • Jolly Ranchers – orange, yellow, green, red
  • Orange Tic-Tacs
  • Candy eyes
  • Red Hot candies
  • Sucker sticks

Directions
  1. Preheat oven to 275 degrees
  2. Line a cookie sheet with parchment paper
  3. Unwrap Jolly Ranchers

  4. Stick together 2 yellow Jolly Ranchers vertically, make sure they are touching. Then take your red, orange and green jolly ranchers and stick them above the yellow ones in a fan motion. Leave enough space so when they come out of the oven you can put a sucker stick in them.
  5. Stick in oven for about 5-6 minutes. Keep a close eye on them and take them out when you get the melted desire you are wanting.

  6. Immediately roll the end of a sucker stick in each sucker towards the bottom.

  7. Quickly add the candy eyes, Tic-Tacs and Red Hots. If suckers start to harden, don’t worry, get a lighter and stick the flame carefully where you want the candies to go to and hold for a few seconds. It will melt the sucker just enough so you can stick the candies on.

  8. Let them set at room temperature until harden, about 10 minutes.
  9. Then they are ready to eat!!
Won't your family, friends and kids think these are the cutest sweets every?  So bright and colorful, they are a perfect Turkey Day craft/recipe to do with the kids!

Mess Free Pumpkin Decorating for Fall! #Harvest #Thanksgiving

Soon it will be Thanksgiving and that means picking the perfect turkey, making pies and coming up with table decor.  There is so much cleaning up during the holidays, why not make a mess free table decoration!

This year for Halloween I  already got creative with Sharpie  markers and drew on some pumpkins I picked up at the Amish farm for only $0.75 each!   I still had one more left and decided I wanted something that would be perfect to sit on the table this Thanksgiving.

First up, pick your perfect pumpkin!

You can easily draw on the pumpkins in pencil first to get your base shape on it.  If you are not artistic, you can find an image online.  Cut out the design and then on the back of the paper, using a pencil, color the line area dark. This will make it like carbon paper!  You can see an example on how to to this here.

Tape the design to your pumpkin and trace out the design with a sharp pencil. This will make your faux carbon paper transfer the design to your pumpkin.

With the Sharpie in hand added all the unique details and designs to the pumpkin!  The possibilities are endless!

This pumpkin will look adorable and the dinner table this Thanksgiving, just put under a cute table runner and possibly add some dried out leaves from the yard!

Here is the link to the Halloween themed pumpkins I did previously!

No-Mess Pumpkin Decorating for Halloween

Halloween is fast approaching, which means it’s time to pick up the candy, costumes and of course, the perfect pumpkin for carving. What’s scarier than a spooky Jack-o’-Lantern? The thought of cleaning up the messy kitchen after carving it!
This Halloween, try getting crafty with a new pumpkin decorating tool – Sharpie Extreme permanent markers. Sharpie Extreme delivers bold colors on variety of surfaces, including plastic, glass and wood, so when it comes to decorating pumpkins, there’s no problem and no mess! Even better, Sharpie Extreme resists fading when exposed to extreme outdoor weather conditions like rain, snow and mud, helping your spooktacular designs last all month for the big day.

I have been toying with the idea to draw on pumpkins this Halloween and once I received the Sharpie Extreme markers, I knew I had to!  I swung by the Amish farm and picked up a pumpkins for $0.75 and started creating!    Since the markers are permanent, I can put the pumpkin outside and not worry about the colors coming off!

You can easily draw on the pumpkins in pencil first to get your base shape on it.   I drew just the basic owl on my pumpkin at first and then with the Sharpie in hand added all the unique details and designs to his body.  The same for the Trick or Treat, I drew the words on with a pencil and then slowly filled the area with the marker.  Then I freehand drew a web and added a cute spider at the end.   The possibilities are endless!

I still have one more white pumpkin and toying with the idea to make it more of a  Harvest/Thanksgiving theme.  I think if I keep it inside it should last longer with the constant temperature, rather then the cold to hot to iceberg temps we get here outside!

Puking Pumpkin Guacamole Dip #Halloween #Recipe

Are you ready for all things Halloween?   It’s time start making some creative,  creepy, spooky treats  and such!   This  Puking Pumpkin featuring  Guacamole dip is a sure fire hit!

What you will need:
  • Small pumpkin
  • Spoon
  • Knife
  • Marker
  • Guacamole (I used Wholly Guacamole)
  • Chips
Instructions:
  1. Wash the outside of your small pumpkin
  2. Cut into the top to remove the stem like you would when you carve pumpkins and then completely clean out the pumpkin.
  3. Then use a marker to draw the eyes and mouth. Make sure the mouth is low and has a wide enough opening to  allow the "vomit" to come out.
  4. Carve the pumpkin
  5. Place your pumpkin on a large plate or serving platter.  Place the backside of the pumpkin close to the end or edge of the plate.
  6.  Add a spoonful of guacamole (homemade or store bought) through the top of the pumpkin and put it on the bottom of the pumpkin by his mouth.
  7. Spread the remainder of the guacamole out from his mouth onto the plate.  Surround the guacamole with corn chips (I like to use the blue ones, makes it look spooky)

This is fun for the kids and super tasty!

2 Hearts Movie only in theaters October 16th #2HeartsTheFilm #2HeartsL3

Based on the Inspirational True Story

For two couples the future unfolds in different decades and different places, but a hidden connection will bring them together in a way no one could have predicted. Based on an inspirational true story, 2 Hearts is a romantic journey that celebrates life, love and generosity of spirit, and challenges audiences to believe miracles are possible.

Charismatic young Australian actor Jacob Elordi (“Euphoria,” “The Kissing Booth“) plays Chris, a college freshman whose love for a spirited classmate played by Tiera Skovbye (“Riverdale,” “Once Upon a Time”) helps him find the purpose he has been searching for.

In another place and time, Adan Canto (“Designated Survivor,” “Narcos”) plays Cuban exile Jorge, who falls for well-traveled flight attendant Leslie, played by Radha Mitchell (Man on Fire, The Shack).

Though they were never meant to meet, fate has something entirely unexpected in store for both couples that dramatically changes the course of their lives.

2 Hearts is directed by Lance Hool from a screenplay by Veronica Hool and Robin U. Russin (On Deadly Ground). The film is produced by Conrad Hool (The Air Up There, Flipper) and Lance Hool (Missing in Action, Man on Fire). Director of photography is Vincent De Paula (“ReBoot: The Guardian Code,” Don’t Let Him In). Executive producers are Aaron Au (“Firefly Lane,” Elsewhere), Shawn Williamson (The Company You Keep, “The Good Doctor”) and Veronica Hool.

The film is edited by Craig Herring (Bridesmaids, Groundhog Day). Costume designer is Glenne Campbell (Freddy Got Fingered, “Battlestar Galactica”). Casting is by Carla Hool (“Narcos,” Coco) and Judy Lee (Canadian casting) (Numb, Hector and the Search for Happiness). Original music is by James Jandrisch (Reasonable Doubt, Luck) and Brett Hool.

2 Hearts is a based on a true story that finds a positive outcome from tragedy. It follows two couples in two different timelines, with themes related to illness, death, grief, and hope.  Chris is a 19-year-old,  college student who believes you should live your life in the moment. Jorge is a successful businessman who lives every day to the fullest, knowing that today may be his last.    While these two men do not know each other and don't seem to have anything in common...but as their stories unfold, they become connected in the end.  The movie does a great job of transitioning back and forth between each couple.  It will not only warm your heart, inspire you, but it will also make you cry, so make sure you have some tissues on hand.

I truly enjoyed my advanced screening of this film, it makes you realize you are not promised tomorrow, so we should make the most of every moment.  With everything gone on in world, it is the perfect movie to watch this weekend.

Ingredients:

Instructions
  1. Squeeze a set of vampire teeth and place in the hole of the donut (depending on the size of the hole of the donut, you may need to cut the hole out a little bit).   Here is a tip...if you are struggling to get the teeth in the hole, use a small rubber band to make the teeth tighter and easier to fit!

  3. If you have red frosting, you can also use that for the added blood effect.
Don't want to go with the Vampire teeth aspect?    Then still adhere the candy eyes to the donut and have an instant monster staring back at you!

Struggling to get the teeth in place, no worries, use the red frosting to make your own blood drips and just serve donuts with the teeth on the side!
