Family Film "Storm Boy" hit select theaters April 5th! #StormBoy @StormBoyMovie

In honor of the upcoming release of the heartwarming, family film STORM BOY, coming to theaters on Friday, April 5th, I have some fun activities to share.  Adapted from the 1976 Australian novella by a Colin Thiele, STORM BOY tells the story of the young, lonely Michael 'Storm Boy' Kingley, who rescues a trio of orphaned pelican hatchlings, forming a loving bond with the birds, which enriches all of  their lives as well as those around them in their small Australian town.

Michael 'Storm Boy' Kingley (Geoffrey Rush) has grown up to be a successful retired businessman and grandfather. When Kingley starts to see images from his past that he can't explain, he is forced to remember his long-forgotten childhood, growing up on an isolated coastline with his father (Jai Courtney). He recounts to his granddaughter the story of how, as a boy (Finn Little), he rescued and raised an extraordinary orphaned pelican, Mr.Percival. Their remarkable adventures and very special bond has a profound effect on all their lives. Based on the beloved book, Storm Boy is a timeless story of an unusual and unconditional friendship.

I was able to get a sneak peek of this film and it is a wonderful family film! It follows like like of "Storm Boy" and how as a child he formed a close bond with a pelican.
When "Storm Boy's"  granddaughter Maddy rebels against her father, he is forced to prevent her from making the wrong decisions and making wrong choices, similar to one he took years earlier. He tells her the stories from his youth.  How after fostering motherless baby pelicans, one of becomes the family pet, Mr. Percival. His life takes a new and unexpected turns full of adventure with his pelican friend.  "Storm Boy"  A true movie about unconditional love!

In a time where it seems that taking care of our environment is on the back burner, this movie has great a great message that encourages the next generation to make a difference in taking care of whats around them. I know I have been teaching my kids the same message! Every time we take walks, we take bags and pick up the trash and recyclable along the way. Every little bit helps!
