Who knew dummies could sing?

We were recently sent a box full of goodies to try out some of Slappy's favorite recipes as well as science experiments. Check out our unboxing:

Inside the box we had tons of Gummy Bears to use in our science experiments as well as recipes.   We tried out the science with Slappy and did fun experiments with the gummies, like putting a gummy bear in different cups with different liquids to see how the reacted!  Some of them grew in the liquid, others dissolved,  if you place your bear in tonic water...the bear will glow in a dark room!

If you have seen the movie, you know that gummy bears attack the characters!  So why not some gummy bear inspired treats?   Up first is gummy bear bark, it is seriously super easy.   All you need is some chocolate (chocolate chips, wafers, almond bark, etc. all work), a microwave and of course gummy bears!

Slappy's Holiday Gummy Bear Bark
Prep Time 30 minutes
Total Time 30 minutes

  • 2 cups milk chocolate chips
  • 1 cup dark chocolate chips
  • 2 bags Haribo gummy bears 5oz bag
  • 1/2 cup white chocolate chips (optional)
  • 1/2 cup of crushed sandwich cookies (optional)
  • 1 tbsp holiday sprinkles
  1. Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper and set aside
  2. Melt both milk-chocolate and dark-chocolate chips in separate bowls in the microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring well between each interval, until completely smooth.  You can also use a little bit of heavy whipping cream to thin it out if needed.
  3. Pour the milk chocolate onto the parchment paper and use a spatula to smooth it into an even layer. Add dollops of the dark chocolate on top of the milk chocolate and use a toothpick or spatula to swirl the two together.
  4. Sprinkle on the crushed cookies, place gummy bears on the chocolate and top with sprinkles
  5. Place in the fridge to allow the chocolate to set, about 15 minutes or place in a cool garage.
  6. Melt the white chocolate  and place in a Ziploc bag, snip the corner to make it into a decorating bag and drizzle the white chocolate on top of the bark.
  7. Let bark sit again for another 15 minutes
  8. You can cut the bark or just break it apart.   Store in an airtight container until ready to serve.

Slappy the ventriloquist dummy has a devious plan to make Halloween last forever, by bringing Slappy & GOOSEBUMPS 2 into your home this holiday season with fun recipes!

Enjoy a batch of Slappy’s Holiday Thumbprint Cookies to get you into the holiday spirit this season.

  • 1 cup (2 sticks)unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup light brown sugar, packed
  • 2 egg yolks
  • 1 tsp. vanilla extract
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 36 Haribo gummy bears (pick red and green to be festive)
  • holiday sprinkles
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees and line a cookie sheet with parchment paper.
In a large bowl, mix butter and brown sugar together. Add egg yolks, one at a time, and then stir in the vanilla extract. Fold in flour and salt, stirring until completely combined. Cover bowl with plastic wrap and set in the freezer for 10 minutes.

After 10 minutes in the freezer, shape dough into tablespoon-sized balls. Decorate cookie balls with desired holiday sprinkles. Arrange 1–1/2 inches apart on the cookie sheet. Using your thumb, press a hole in the middle of each ball. Make sure to make the hole deep and wide enough so the gummy bears don’t spill out, but not too deep or you will crack the sides of the cookie during baking.

Bake cookies for 8–10 minutes, or until the cookies look almost done. Take out the cookie sheet from the oven and place a single gummy bear in each cookie cavity.

Return cookie sheet back to oven and bake until the gummy bears completely melt (should take about 2 minutes).

Let cookies cool and enjoy before Slappy gets to them first!

GOOSEBUMPS 2 has a run time of approximately 120 minutes and is rated PG for scary creature action and images, some thematic elements, rude humor and language.
