DreamWorks The Epic Tales of Captain Underpants stars both established and emerging voice talent including Sean Astin (Lord of the Rings, "Stranger Things", The Goonies) as the series' narrator, Nat Faxon ("Ben and Kate", “Married") as Captain Underpants/Mr. Krupp, as well as young actors Jay Gragnani and Ramone Hamilton who voice best pals, George Beard and Harold Hutchins. The lively cast comes together to bring Pilkey's classic, fun-filled creation to life.

In honor of the release,  the great folks at DreamWorks sent me a  free DIY DreamWorks The Epic Tales of Captain Underpants mailer to get crafty this summer!  The mailer included just about everything we needed to make some sweet looking sock puppets.

We did need scissors and a hot glue gun, so I did all the hot glue work to make sure the kids did not burn themselves.   Below are pictures of the instructions if you want to try it at home too.  Just click the image to make it larger!

 These are fun and super easy to make and perfect for any Captain Underpants fan and can be made in under an hour.

I couldn't let the craftiness stop with the mailed, so here are  a fun recipe and another craft to do with the kids this summer!

Based on the bestselling book series, DreamWorks  presents The Epic Tales of Captain Underpants premieres on Netflix July 13.   In honor of its release, check out this fun recipe.

Tra La Laa Trail Mix ingredients:

• Pretzels
• M&Ms
• Raisings
• Peanuts
• Sunflower seeds

 Mix all of the above ingredients in a bowl and store in an air tight container.  This is the perfect snack for grab and go!

Here is a fun craft that you and the kids can do together!     

You’ll need:

• scissors
• glue stick
• colored pencils
• red and white (or pink for skin tone) construction paper or craft paper
• Corner Bookmark Template (see below)
• pencil

Template:

Step 1:
Use the white construction paper and draw a template on it.  I used a post-it note to make the square and then folded it in half to make the triangle sides and traced them!

Step 2:
Cut out your shape so it looks like this:

Step 3:

Fold your triangles over and glue the top to the bottom triangle.

Step 4:

Cut out the a red triangle out construction paper and glue on to your back of your bookmark.  You will also want to cute out a small sliver of red for the front where his cape would be.

Step 5:   

Use your colored pencils and put the polka dots on the cape!   

Step 6:   

Draw on your face with a pencil

Step 7:   

Go over the face details with color pencils

Now you have an epic corner bookmark and no worries about losing your place!
