Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows #Review #TMNT

Michelangelo, Donatello, Leonardo, and Raphael return to theaters this summer to battle bigger, badder villains, alongsideApril O’Neil (Megan Fox), Vern Fenwick (Will Arnett), and a newcomer: the hockey-masked vigilante Casey Jones (Stephen Amell). After supervillain Shredder escapes custody, he joins forces with mad scientist Baxter Stockman (Tyler Perry) and two dimwitted henchmen, Bebop (Gary Anthony Williams) and Rocksteady (WWE Superstar Stephen “Sheamus” Farrelly), to unleash a diabolical plan to take over the world. As the Turtles prepare to take on Shredder and his new crew, they find themselves facing an even greater evil with similar intentions: the notorious Krang.

My husband and kids went to the theater over the summer to see this movie, I just got to watch it recently for the first time at home.   The entire time, my son was like "Mom, this is an important part", "Mom, remember what happened there, it is important", "Mom, this is the best part", etc.   You can get the picture, he loved this film and wanted to make sure I was well aware of it all!

I grew up with the TMNT crew, then babysat the next generation of fans.  I loved seeing this version!  This film is a great family film.  It focuses on strong family bonds and accepting others.  The Turtles are the town's unsung heroes, coming up from the sewers to fight crime and never getting the recognition!   In this movie  Shredder and his foot clan  are back at it again, but we also get to  introduced to  Casey and his hockey stick, Kraang, Rocksteady, and Bebop.

This is a fun film that prior TMNT fans will enjoy along side new fans.  My son who is 9, truly enjoyed this film and is already hoping for more TMNT movies!

Here are some cookies I did for the last movie!

Every good TMNT movie viewing needs to have cookies!  Looking for a simple fun treat kids of all ages will love then check out these cookies.  All you will need is a sugar cookie mix (+ ingredients), green frosting, fruit roll ups and candy nonpareils for eyes.

Follow the instructions on the cookie mix and bake. Once cool frost cookies with green frosting.  I used a multipack of fruit roll ups, so the colors were a little tie dyed. Using kitchen shears I cut the masks out and place on the frosting. Next I used the little black candies (bag was $1 in baking section at Wal-mart).  Apply a small amount of frosting to the candy and place on the mask!  Viola!  Instant turtle!
