Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles out now on Digital HD #TMNTmovie #TMNT

Darkness has settled over New York City as Shredder has an iron grip on everything from the police to the politicians. The future is grim until four ninja-fighting, pizza-loving brothers rise from the sewers and discover their destiny as Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.  Working with reporter April O'Neil, the four turtle brothers Leonardo, Michelangelo, Raphael, and Donatello work together to stop a devious kingpin from assuming control of New York City.

I recently received a  viewing pack so the family can take a break from all the food festivities this Thanksgiving and enjoy some quality time together watching the movie. We actually had some fellow Ninja Turtle fans over to enjoy the movie with the kids.  The packs  included a digital code for the film, 4 Turtle masks (these are in specially marked boxes when released in a couple of weeks), 2 bags of popcorn, a TMNT pizza box, 4 TMNT dog tags and a book called Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Ultimate Visual History.

Every good TMNT movie viewing needs to have cookies!  Looking for a simple fun treat kids of all ages will love then check out these cookies.  All you will need is a sugar cookie mix (+ ingredients), green frosting, fruit roll ups and candy nonpareils for eyes.

Follow the instructions on the cookie mix and bake. Once cool frost cookies with green frosting.  I used a multipack of fruit roll ups, so the colors were a little tie dyed. Using kitchen shears I cut the masks out and place on the frosting. Next I used the little black candies (bag was $1 in baking section at Wal-mart).  Apply a small amount of frosting to the candy and place on the mask!  Viola!  Instant turtle!

Of course we had other food! My husband did a pizza run and chip run for us! Cheese pizza was a must in honor of the pizza-loving brothers. The kids ate me out of house and home!  We also had juice boxes and popcorn!  It was a nice change from the turkey leftovers!

I grew up with the TMNT crew, then babysat the next generation of fans.  I loved seeing this version!  This film is a great family film.  It focuses on strong family bonds and accepting others.  The Turtles are the town's unsung heroes, coming up from the sewers to fight crime.  Each turtle gets to shine at one time or another in this movie and show their own individual personality!   I think each child in attendance had a different favorite turtle by the end of the night!  There is action, fighting, friendship, crushes,  comedy and more.  It has something for everyone.  There is a tad bit of swearing, but I don't think the kids even noticed it!    The graphics and sound is amazing.  It is a trully great film.  Of course one favorite scene I must point out is the elevator scene... MC Mikey.  Kids LOVED it!
