Lunchbox Makeover via BJ's Wholesale Club #Back2School

With all of the processed food, allergies and hunger pains kids have, a boring, uninspiring or less-than-nutritious lunch won't cut it.

A healthy and affordable homemade lunch will keep the kids (and mom) happy and energized all day!  The below simple sandwich recipes provided by BJ's Wholesale Club are easy to make, even the kids can help!  My kids LOVE helping pack their lunches.  It lets them think they are picking what they want, but really it us moms guiding them to towards certain items!

Here the some ideas to spice up the sandwich:
Pump up the Protein Sandwich
  • 1 Arnold Sandwich Thin
  • Applegate Smoked Turkey

Nutritional Nuts Sandwich
  •  Two slices of whole wheat bread or 1 Arnold Sandwich Thin
  • 2 Tbs of Almond Butter
  • Fresh Banana or Strawberries
Slice up banana/strawberries.  Next spread the almond butter evenly on the  bread/thins.  Lastly place the banana/strawberries on the bread/thin and top with remaining piece of bread/thin

Last Night's Leftovers Sandwich
Ingredients :
  • 1 Whole wheat wrap
  • Rotisserie chicken
  • Turkey bacon
  • Lettuce
  • Tomato
Cook up two slices of turkey bacon, while cooling cut up pieces of the rotisseries chicken.  Rinse and slice lettuce and tomato.  Place the chicken and turkey bacon in the wrap.   Add the lettuce and tomato.  Make sure all ingredients are folded in and wrap it up and enjoy!

Not only do kids need a yummy sandwich in their lunchbox, but other yummy and nutritious goodies!  My kids always take a fruit or applesauce pouch, then cheese chunks, veggies, trail mix, etc.   It is easy to prepare some items ahead of time and put in fridge or on counter in reusable containers.  It saves time and fighting in the morning.

BJ's has other fun and different items to add pizazz to the lunch box! Skinny Pop popcorn is a fun treat, too much in a bag, split it into containers between kids!  Dried fruit and fruit snacks add a bit of sweetness without the extra added sugar! BJ's trail-mix is another yummy item combing nuts, fruit and more!

Don't forget the coupons when shopping at BJ's!   You can mix manufacturer's coupons with BJ's coupons!  Plus you can stack coupons!  If three items are wrapped together in a clear plastic and can see each item has its own barcode, then you can use three manufacturer's coupons plus a BJ's coupon if available!  This is perfect for the multiple boxes of tissues and disinfecting wipes that schools require!

From clothes and desk necessities to tech, BJ's has everything you need for back-to school!
