Sterling Vineyards Wine #Review

Sterling Vineyards has two tiers of wine with the Vintners Collection providing a great value bottle (SRP $14-17/bottle) without sacrificing the quality or taste. These wines are made for enjoying every day.

Sterling Vineyards wines express true varietal character - that set of aromas and flavors a grape variety develops when grown in the terrior that suits it best.  Carefully selected wine making methods highlight each wine's unique personality and guarantee the high quality that distinguishes their reputation.  Sterling Vintner's Collection offers hand-crafted, approachable selections source from diverse terrior and priced to be enjoyed every day!

Sterling Vintners Collection Aromatic White

The Aromatic White is an everyday wine at $14/bottle SRP (often found for less in stores) that’s made from an aromatic blend of white grapes. The explosion of intense fruit and floral aromas in this wine stand up well to the equally intense flavors to appetizers containing ingredients such as blue cheese and sweet apricot. This wine offers a refreshing sip as a counterpoint to the creaminess of the cheese and the soft chew of dried apricots. This is an amazing white wine and great to serve with appetizers while  dinner is cooking.  I also thought it would be great to serve with dessert.   Retails about $14 a bottle.

Sterling Napa Sauvignon Blanc

The pleasant appeal of their 2012 Sauvignon Blanc begins on the nose with fragrant aromas of white peach and bright floral notes. Stone fruit and honeydew melon continue on the palate, accented by ripe ruby grapefruit. Associate Winemaker John Hazak used lees stirring, which contributed to the smooth viscosity and silky mouth feel. A vibrant streak of citrus continues into a long and satisfying finish. The lively acids in this wine pair well with a variety of foods. Try seared scallops, halibut or any variety of salads.

Sterling Vineyards Napa Appellation wines come from 14 diverse vineyards in this world famous region, from Caneros District in the south to the northern reaches of Caslistoga.

The Sauvignon Blanc is a step up, in that it’s part of the more prestigious Napa Appellation collection, and it’s more traditional as a single-variety wine. It in a nice clean and crisp wine that showcases a citrus flavor.   This is the perfect wine to pair with a light salad after a long day of work.  It’s SRP is $14.40/bottle.
