DIY Paper Mache #Christmas Ornaments

With Christmas items on clearance, now is the time to pick up items to keep the kids busy on snow days.   With all the snow and cold temperatures, the kids have not had school and hubby and I have not had to go to work.  So of course we are a little stir crazy!    So it was crafting time!

I picked up some Paper Mache ornaments on clearance and already had the tissue paper and Mod Podge in the house!

Items needed:
  • Paper Mache ornaments or even cheap glass/plastic bulbs
  • Mod Podge
  • Tissue paper
  • Glitter if desired
It’s messy yet simple! Just  cut up or tear tissue paper into small pieces.  My daughter opted for a floral paper, orange and yellow, while my son with a baseball theme and used white and red tissue paper.   Apply Mod Podge to ornaments and then add  strips of paper to the ornament.  The Mod Podge dries clear, so apply as needed.  It is perfectly okay to overlap the paper too.  My daughter and I even cut out some of the flowers in the tissue paper and placed them on too.    After my daughter's star was complete, we coated it with a thin coat of Mod Podge and sprinkled glitter on it.

It was a nice project to do with the kids on a snow day!  Took about an hour.

You can purchase the supplies at a craft store or on Amazon!
