A couple weeks ago we took our first trip to Kennywood park in  PA. It was close to a 2 hour drive for us, so not that bad!   We arrived at opening and got to experience it all!  Although it was the day all the Marching bands were there for a parade, we had a blast.  The line wait was minimal at the beginning of the day and by afternoon it was about an hour or so for the big rides. My husband and daughter rode the Phantom Coaster and loved it! While my son went on a couple of the classic wood coasters.

Food wasn't bad.  We grabbed 3 corn dogs and a thing of fries for $14! There was food places and restrooms all over the place, so they were easy to find!

It was a truly nice park for families.  My son enjoyed the children area and got the courage to ride the bigger rides after taking a turn on some of the rides in there.  We sat back and listened to the Steel City Music group and they were great.  The one gal came and sang to my hubby!

If you have small kids, the Kiddyland part of the park will make you very happy. If you are a roller coaster enthusiast, there are tons of options for you.  There is something for everyone!  It  was a fun filled day for us Ohio peeps and nice to have an option not to far away to visit

  1. Kennywood has always been one of my favorite amusement parks. Knoebels being the other one. It is also a great family fun park. It's wonderful that they don't overcharge like alot of other amusement parks and you really get the bang for your buck. I always loved the coasters and the kangaroo. Great fun is always to be had by all at Kennywood.
