Since receiving the George Foreman Removable-Plate Grill, I have been asked to partake in a "The George Foreman Grill: Show Us Your Grill Skill Recipe Contest"!   Well we have always we got had a George Foreman in the house since we got married.  I am afraid to use an outdoor grill, let alone turn it on.  Weird, I know, but we all have fears!  Since I always turn to my George Foreman grills for my grilling needs, it was easy to come up with a recipe for this contest!

Grilled Chicken and Veggies Pita
  • 2 boneless/skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 bottle of Italian Dressing
  • 1 pack of Pita Pockets
  • Veggies of your choice! We just head to our backyard and pick what we need.  We used cherry tomatoes, zucchini, mushrooms, onions and banana peppers
Place chicken in a container and cover with Italian dressing.  Let soak for a minimum of 2 hours, but I usually place it in the morning prior to work and then the chicken will be nice and juicy! I slice the zucchini and onions only, I leave the rest of the veggies whole. Place veggies in a bowl or baggie and cover with dressing as well.   If you have kids, then you may wish to place onions and veggies separate.
Heat up the George Foreman Removable-Plate Grill  and get your grilling on.   Veggies cook the fastest, so it really up to you if you do them first or last.  Just have a way to keep them warm.  I will place them in a pan in a heated oven. Think it is hard to grill the veggies, nope!  The floating hinge makes it easy to adjust and cook what you need!  So no smashed veggies.

Grill chicken until cooked all the way thru.  You will be cutting them into chunks/slices so no worries about the chicken looking pretty!

Hard to tell by image above, but chicken is placed into pita first and the smothered with the veggies on top.  We then eat the other veggies on the side.  Even my 5 & 6 year olds love this meal.

Clean up is a breeze.   Remove the plates and wipe down, dump the Italian juice that dripped into the drip pan and wash up.   Easy meal from start to finish!
