My Experience at the Day Out With Thomas™: Mystery on the Rails Tour 2012

Last year I took my family on a Day Out With Thomas here in Ohio and we had a blast. We rode the rails with Thomas this past weekend!

All aboard! Thomas the Tank Engine™ is chugging into a station near you for Day Out With Thomas™: Mystery on the Rails Tour 2012.  Thomas fans are invited to come spend the day with their favorite No. 1 engine.  For over 66 years, children have been captivated by the courageous adventures of Thomas and his engine friends.  This year, Day Out With Thomas will visit more than 45 cities in the United States and Canada and is expected to welcome more than one million passengers in 2012.

This fun-filled event offers little engineers and their families the opportunity to take a ride with a 15-ton replica of Thomas the Tank Engine, star of the popular Thomas & Friends™ series.  Children will take a ride along with their favorite engine friend on his latest adventure and participate in Thomas-themed activities.

Day Out with Thomas is a fun-filled and exciting way for children and adults to enter the world of Thomas & Friends. Day Out With Thomas provides an opportunity for kids to take a ride on a 15-ton replica of Thomas & have their pictures taken with Sir Topham Hatt, the controller of Thomas' railway. The tour provides a unique, interactive family experience at every station, offering a variety of entertaining activities that reflect the local flavor of each stop. Different forms of entertainment - from petting zoos, miniature golf, and bounce houses to face-painting and magic shows - make each Day Out With Thomas event special. In addition, every location has  a Thomas & Friends Imagination Station with Thomas-themed activities including stamps, temporary tattoos, hands-on arts and crafts, and a Thomas storytelling and video viewing area.

These are my opinions and photos from our Day Out With Thomas™: Mystery on the Rails Tour 2012 visit!  We attended the Day Out with Thomas last year and   I honestly believe this was a bigger even this year.  I was shocked when we pulled into the Cuyahoga Valley Scenic Railroad it was tents among tents of activities.  There were a three of blow-up activities for kids to climb on, a tent with tattoos, music/magicians , a tent with model trains on display, story time, photo opps, items for sale, etc.   When we first entered we were given a map and if we collected all our stamps the kids were awarded a prize (Thomas Mega Blok sample pack). The kids, hubby and I totally enjoyed ourselves.  The ride consisted of a little more than 30 minutes, the "Conductors and Train Men/Women" walked the aisles talking to the children, giving them certificates and making the ride totally enjoyable!
It was a super hot day and we were prepared for the heat, but a nice feature this was the portable water tanks with water fountains on them!  We  were able to keep refilling our water bottles!  They even had a food tent set up for lunch, ice cream, snacks, you name it! It was an entire Thomas experience!

It Thomas is rolling into a town near you, then I highly suggest you checking it out!   It is a great experience!  Further information about each specific event is available from the host railroad.
