So do you ladies remember the TV show JEM or Jem and the Holograms?   It was a series for girls in the 80s about a Rocker named JEM.  Well I recently found it on the TV channel the HUB and got my daughter hooked!  Well JEM And The Holograms: The Truly Outrageous Complete Series set will be released  this month!!! October 11th is the big day!!!!

Poised to present a hard-to-refuse offer for loyal fans, this uncompromising 11-DVD box set is collected in a specially designed box and will be made available in stores nationwide. Also available to own on the same day is the single season DVD debut of JEM and The Holograms: Season One in a 4-DVD box set.

The series “JEM and The Holograms” ran from 1985-’88 in first-run syndication and still boasts a loyal and vocal fan base. It is frequently credited with influencing fashion in the late 1980s and beyond, and launching the careers of female pop-rock stars and music groups. The series follows Jerrica Benton, whose discovery of Synergy, a powerful computer companion, allows her to transform from co-owner of Starlight Music into rock star Jem. Teaming with her sister and best friends who form The Holograms, Jem sets out to make their musical dreams come true, even as she battles against the ruthless Eric Raymond and his musical protégés.

I grew up watching Jem and the Holograms and was super excited when I found the series on the HUB channel and was able to introduce my little girl to the series as well. If you are like me, just one Jem is not enough, so I was even more excited to hear about the box set release!   Honestly the cartoons of the 80s rocked!  I was lucky enough to get the JEM And The Holograms: The Truly Outrageous Complete Series to review! 

JEM And The Holograms  teach children about self-confidence,  responsibility, friendship and the show tackles tough issues in each episode like bullying, death of a family member, etc.   I remember wishing I was Jem and  that I had her iconic pink hair, star shape earrings and her musical talent.   Jem knew how to rock with all her  glitter and glamor!  I have enjoyed watching all these episodes, heck I even remembered a number of the songs and to my daughter's delight sang along with Jem and even the Misfitsy! It also surprised me the number of shows that I did not remember, like anything with the Stingers... so it was great watching those for the first time.   I recommend JEM and the Holograms Complete Series to everyone, after all these years JEM is still Truly, Truly Outrageous and one of my all time favorite cartoons!!!
