The Funniest Movie Ever!”Shawn Edwards, Fox-TV
“If This is Only a Chick Flick, Then Call Me a Chick!” – Joe Morgenstern, The Wall Street Journal

Universal Studios Entertainment is sponsored a Girl's Movie Night for One Momma Saving Money and some friends to have a special pre-release Bridesmaids screening party! Luckily a girl I know is getting hitched next month, so this was perfect timing!

This movie is hysterical.  I swear it was funnier the second time around watching it! Granted there is some sex scenes and language, thus the R rating, but it is laugh out loud funny!  Prior to watching the film us girls gathered to eat, drink and just gab.  We talked about our weddings, showers, bachelorette parties or the lack there of such a party!

Since one of the characters is a baker and I am an avid baker, of course I had to make some sort of yummy treat!  I was going to make cupcakes, but my work schedule and hectic kid schedule did not allow me to make some fancy cupcakes.  Instead I opted for sugar cookies with a hot pink frosting! My fingers are were  pink from the food coloring !  My first batch of frosting turned more purple then pink... darn instructions on the Neon food coloring box.  Thank goodness I was able to start over and get the perfect pink I was looking for! Little did I know making the perfect pink would be a challenge, let alone turn our tongues and teeth pink too.
The first batch of purple cookies, darn you instructions!
All better and hot pink!!!
Well one can not just have cookies, so of course there was a food spread.  Since I am all about saving money, it is way cheaper to buy all your own veggies and make your own veggie tray.   Yes the convenience and time are a great factor, but to spend half of what I did to make my own, it was worth it!
Check out the cool flower I made from the celery stalk!
There was also adult beverages, chips, meatballs, pizza, bruschetta, mushrooms and more!

One of the laugh out loud scenes of the movie.  For those of you who have not seen the movie the picture below takes place an airplane and the man may or may not be an air marshal.

A little bit about the flick:
Join the wildest wedding party of the year when Bridesmaids marches down the aisle to Blu-ray™, DVD and digital download on September 20, 2011, from Universal Studios Home Entertainment. Hailed as “brazenly hysterical” by People Magazine and “the best comedy of 2011” (Back Stage), Bridesmaids is the riotously funny and warmly outrageous comedy that has become the most talked about movie of the year. Critically acclaimed by fans and media alike, the “certified fresh” film (Rotten Tomatoes.com) received “two thumbs up! ®” from Ebert Presents. Surpassing Sex and the City as the number one R-rated female comedy of all time, Bridesmaids starring “Saturday Night Live” standouts Kristen Wiig and Maya Rudolph, is produced by comedy mastermind Judd Apatow (Knocked Up, The 40-Year Old Virgin) and marks his most successful film ever.

Annie (played by Wiig) isn't doing so well; her bakery failed and seems to be a failure in the men department as well.   Although she is unlucky in business and in love, she's always had her best friend Lillian (Maya Rudolph).  Lillian gets engaged, Annie becomes maid of honor and all sorts of craziness ensues.
