Are you a blogger in constant search for the perfect image for a post? Or are you mom of a child who needs images for school reports, projects, etc and spend hours looking for the right image? Neither one of the above, but like to use images for your own projects? Then I got some news for you!
Sometimes you just have to pay for images, but let me tell you it is worth it. You don’t use the same images everyone does and
you are not worried if you are using a copyrighted image. I have found a new favorite
site for purchasing images:
Fotolia.com! Just think hot studious your child will look if they use quality photos in their assignements! How they will make your blog pop, etc.!
You all know I do giveaways and I use the same free "winner" image that just about all the other bloggers use to. Well tonight I just got a new image courtesy of Fotolia! Seriously how much better is this photo?
Fotolia is the first worldwide social marketplace for royalty free
stock images, allowing individuals and professionals to legally buy and
share stock images and illustrations. Fotolia offers the largest image bank of free and affordable royalty
free photos and illustrations perfect for any medium, web or print.
Photographers and designers constantly update Fotolia with thousands of
new photos and illustrations each day, while photographers and designers
receive commission from each photo sold and revenue from advertising on
the free section.
To find the right photo for your needs, you can search by keyword, or browse by category, gallery, tag, etc. Since I started blogging I have tons of photos on my blog. I haven’t paid for them all, some are mine, etc., but there are many reasons I have had a need to buy photos:
- Some images I need are just hard to find online for free.
- No time to spend hours searching online for the perfect free image
- Images you buy are available in a variety of formats and sometimes one needs a JPEG and not a bitmap or GIF!
Fotolia offers two pricing models: (1) subscription and (2) credits.
Standard subscriptions start at $199 for one month. One would be able
to download 25 large photos a day (750 total downloads). The
standard subscription only includes JPEG images. If you want to download
vector artwork and videos, then you need a premium subscription.
Pricing for the premium subscription starts at $249 for one month.
Credits are their form of currency. Credits are used to buy images on the website. (Credit from $0.75)
Image prices are given in credits; the price depends on the size and use of the purchased image.
So if you find an image that is just 1 credit, you only spend $.75! so much better than searching the web! That is a deal in my book!
Want to try out Fotolia for yourself? Well guess what? I got a giveaway for you! Three lucky OneMommaSavingMoney readers will each win a 14-day Fotolia
subscription (3 image downloads per day).
The winner will be chosen by random.org
