La Tortilla Factory Review and Giveaway

Are you looking for tasty, low-calorie foods that actually satisfy your hunger yet don’t derail you from getting in swimsuit shape by summer.

High fiber foods have numerous health benefits and help you stay full longer, making La Tortilla Factory’s high fiber, low-calorie tortillas and wraps a great way to help dieters confront this challenge.

Molly Kimball, registered dietitian says:

  • High fiber foods help to keep us feeling fuller longer, making it easier to cut back on calories, and can translate into greater weight loss.
  • A diet rich in fiber is known to reduce cholesterol and stabilize blood sugar levels, which in turn can lower risk of heart disease, stroke and diabetes.
  •  La Tortilla Factory tortillas make it effortless to incorporate bread into your diet without fear of excess carbs or calories.  The 50-calorie Smart & Delicious Low Carb, High Fiber wrap has half the calories and carbs – and more than twice the fiber – of a typical slice of whole grain bread.
Here are some healthy options and ideas from La Tortilla Factory that will help you put a wrap on diet hunger as you get ready to unwrap their towels with confidence at this beach this summer:

La Tortilla Factory’s Smart & Delicious™ 100 Calorie Tortillas

Recipe Ideas:
Goat Cheese Shrimp Quesadilla / less than 300 calories per quesadilla
Asian Rotisserie Chicken Salad Wrap / less than 300 calories per wrap.

I got a variety of La Tortilla Factory tortilla's to try out and review.  First up was of course a quesadilla.  I used shredded cheese, shredded chicken and then some Campbell's Fiesta nacho soup all on a wheat tortilla.  It was so yummy!

Another family favorite was taking soft wraps in Tomato basil and making pizzadillas!  You make these just like a quesadilla, add mozzarella cheese, pepperoni, ham and any other of your favorite pizza topping.   Once the pizzadilla is done, cut and serve with pizza sauce!

Looking for a dessert?  Then how about some tortilla cookies?  My kids love these!
1 doz. flour tortillas
1 stick softened butter or butter substitute
1/2 c. sugar mixed with 2 tbsp. cinnamon
Spread butter on top of each tortilla and stack. Cut the stack into halves and then into fourths. Sprinkle buttered side of tortillas with cinnamon-sugar mix. Place on cookie sheet and bake 12 to 15 minutes at 350 degrees

When you have La Tortilla Factory tortillas in the house you dinner possibilities are endless!
