TABASCO® Original Red - So much more than hot

This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of TABASCO® Original Red. All opinions are 100% mine.

Original Red was the first sauce introduced by the McIlhenny family back in 1868 and continues to be their most popular sauce of 6 total sauces.  But is so much more than just a hot pepper sauce.

TABASCO® Original Red is not about heat for heat’s sake. It’s about what heat does to the flavor of food. The simple combination of salt, red pepper, and vinegar are perfected in a 3-year aging process that produces a hot sauce with the uncanny ability to bring the most out of your food. Other hot sauces add their own specific flavor to food. TABASCO® Original Red simply enhances the flavor of food.

Have you ever had  TABASCO® Original Red on pizza.  It is amazing!   Just sprinkle it on your homemade or carry out pizza to enhance the flavor.  Or better yet create your own pizza using it like a Buffalo style pizza!  TABASCO Original Red makes Pizza Perfected

I know when you think of pepper sauce, hot wings and the like come to mind.  But you can use TABASCO Original Red in a variety of dishes!  I like to add it to my Cheddar Quiche!

1 premade pie crust
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
2 cups shredded Cheddar cheese
4 eggs
1 teaspoon salt
ham cut up into cubes (or just buy the pre-cut/pre-cubed)
1/4 teaspoon TABASCO Original Red
1 (12 fluid ounce) can evaporated milk,
heated
  1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees F. Lightly grease a 9 inch pie pan.
  2. Press dough into the greased pie pan. Fold edges, and flute.
  3. Heat evaporated milk on stove on low.
  4. In a medium bowl, beat eggs with 1 teaspoon salt and hot pepper sauce, then slowly stir in hot evaporated milk. Pour into the pie shell.
  5. Sprinkle meat and cheese on top (it will distribute evenly this way)
  6. Bake 5 minutes in the preheated oven, then reduce heat to 350 degrees F . Continue baking 25 minutes, or until center is almost set (usually a knife will come clean when tested in the middle). Do not over bake - the quiche will set as it cools.

With TABASCO Original Red the possibilities are endless!
