The Care Bears stand behind their message of philanthropy by supporting organizations like #ZachKapCares! #ShareYourCare

American Greetings Properties is proud to announce that September 9th is the inaugural National Care Bears™ #ShareYourCare Day, designated by the registrar of the National Day Calendar. To commemorate the day, the Care Bears are spending the holiday on location in the Bronx, NY and are teaming up with 10 year-old do-gooder Zach Kaplan and Leake & Watts to donate plush toys to children in need of New York City. Care Bears also aligned with an army of nearly 300 bloggers known as the Care Bears #ShareYourCare Ambassadors, all of whom have taken the Care Bears #ShareYourCare oath to spread the news, pay it forward and keep the conversation going to their respective vast audiences.

Recognizing the iconic toy brand and its influence on caring, sharing and lending a helping hand around the world, the Ambassador group, along with fans in the #ShareYourCare Crew, are challenged to Share, Care, Love and Help those around them every day of the year.

NYC do-gooder and philanthropist, Zachary Kaplan has something big he’d like to accomplish this day. In honor of National #ShareYourCare Day, Zachary has teamed up with the Care Bears™ who are supporting his charity ZachKapCares, and his mission to gift children in need with a soft bear to hug at night.

Together, Care Bears and Zach have chosen to donate 400 Care Bears plush toys and DVDs to children aged 2-4 who are supported by Leake & Watts early childhood programs in the Bronx. Zach and Care Bears will publicly present the bears to children at Leake & Watts Head Start in celebration of the day. The event will be held on September 9th at Leake & Watts Head Start Program at 2165 Randall Avenue, Bronx at 3:00pm.

Leake &Watts is a local human services agency that provides vital support to 8,000 children, adults, and families each day in the greater New York Metropolitan Area. Throughout its 184-year history, Leake & Watts has been recognized for its successful outcomes, excellent management, and ability to create, adapt, and expand programs to meet changing human services needs.

Through the National #ShareYourCare Day movement, the Care Bears are reminding fans that their kind actions, small and large, can make a difference., Sharing your care can be simple things like sharing a toy with your sibling, taking out the trash for your mom, helping an older neighbor across the street; or bigger things like planting a tree, or spending a day volunteering for a charity. The Care Bears are inspiring fans to think of others and #ShareYourCare every day.
