Never played Ghosts in the Graveyard?  Here are some quick and easy instructions!

1. Designate one house's yard  for the playing field. You will need a home base on which everyone can stand or all touch at the same time such as a large tree, front stoop, or back patio.
2. Choose one person to be the "ghost".  Give the ghost a flashlight.
3. Have everyone but the ghost stand at the base while the ghost runs off to hide somewhere in the playing field.
4. Sing slowly as a group,  "One o'clock... two o'clock... three o'clock..." and so on, up to twelve o'clock. Then shout, "Midnight! I hope I don't see the ghost tonight!"
5.  The ghost hunters leave the  base and search for the ghost in the yard. The ghost's job is to jump out, surprise, and tag a player with the flashlight. When anyone encounters the ghost they should yell, "Ghost in the graveyard!" and try to run away. When the ghost catches someone, the new person becomes the only ghost.  

Another must for the 4th is glow sticks and necklaces.   Even when you leave home and head to the city to watch fireworks, vendors peddle expensive glow products.  Save some money and purchase glow products ahead of time.  Perfect for home, while out and about and more.    Kids and adults will glimmer and glow when they wear these bright rope necklaces, bracelets or glow sticks around their neck. These are also a great way to keep and eye on the kids when your youngsters play in the yard after dark!

As a child I grew up with the original Adventures in Babysitting and recently introduced it to my own kids.   I was a great movie and I still love it, so I was not sure how the new version would stack up to the cult classic! 

Well the 100th Disney Channel’s Original Movie did not disappoint!  We watched it as a family and enjoyed it!   I loved the references to the original (Chris Parker is now Jenny Parker), Dawson's garage, the roller skating, etc.    In the original  the babysitter agrees to babysit after her she gets stood up by her boyfriend and antics ensue trying to help a friend who went into the city!    In the newest rendition of this film, Sofia Carson's character (Lola) lies and takes a babysitting gig, house is a mess, a kitchen fire and a teenage boy sneaks out into the city.    When Jenny Parker finds out...no child is left behind and the crew of babysitters and all the kids in tow adventure off into the big bad city to find the missing boy!

This film is more child friendly then the originally.  Instead of a Playboy with notes about stolen car parts, guns and menacing bad guys, the kids are chased by comical bad guys because they took a picture of them with a rare Ferret that they stole.  There is still singing in a club (loved this part in original), this time a rap instead of singing the blues. It is a great family film and a definite must to pick up!  My kids have already watched this movie a couple of times, they love it so much!

Here is what you will need to make these cute cupcakes!

• Cake mix + ingredients listed on the box
• Can of frosting
• Mini Oreos
• Tube of chocolate icing
• Handful of chocolate chips
• Small bowl of sugar
• Sandwich size ziploc bag

Bake cupcakes according to package.  Let cool and frost.  Immediately after frosting roll cupcake in the bowl of sugar.

Next up insert a chocolate chip for the nose.

Then use the chocolate frosting to make the mouth and  eyes.  Place a spoonful of white frosting in a ziploc bag and cut off the tip.  Gently squeeze and make the white dots in the eyes.

Then separate a mini oreo, use each half for the ears.

My daughter's review of Flunked: Fairy Tale Reform School!

My daughter is in 4th grade and loved this book. It was so creative and was a twist on the normal “fairy tale” books. This story is told form the point of view of Gilly. Gilly comes from a poor family and it is a struggle to even eat at times. Gilly turns to stealing in order to help her family.

After she is caught stealing for the third time, she is required to attend the Fairy Tale Reform school . Gilly must spend her time at the school transforming from “villain” into a hero. While most would think of this as a punishment, it was a real change for Gilly. She now has more opportunities then she did before.

While at the school, Gilly comes to realize not everything is as it seems. She devises a plan to figure out what is going on all while trying to be a good even though at times she doesn’t feel like it. Gilly’s family is counting on her.
