We are a jelly loving family.  We all pack lunches during the week, the kids for school and hubby and myself for work, so of course peanut butter and jelly or even jelly sandwiches are on the menu often!     I was able to find Polaner at my local Kroger and the same night I brought it home, we used it for lunches!  My kids take turns each night helping pack lunches.  Well right after I spread the Polaner on the bread and I turned to get the peanut butter, I caught my little guy sneaking a spoonful of the Strawberry Polaner!  It is so good, he had to eat it by the spoon.

Not only can you use Polaner in school lunches, and on breakfast items, but as a dessert too!  One of my favorite cookies is Thumbprint cookies!

Ingredients
  • 4 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 8 tablespoons salted butter, at room temperature
  • 1/2 cup + 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 cup + 2 tablespoons flour
  • 1/4 cup favorite Polaner spread
Instructions (30 minutes prior to baking, preheat oven to 350 degrees (F))
  1. Use the paddle attachment  on your Kitchen Aid Mixer and beat cream cheese and butter until light and fluffy, scraping down the sides as needed.
  2. Add the sugar and beat well.
  3. Slowly add in flour, beating in on low speed
  4. Cover bowl with plastic wrap or towel  and place in the refrigerator for at least 45 minutes, and up to 2 hours. (Dough needs to cold).
  5. Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper or silicone liner.
  6. Make balls of dough by rolling dough in your hands.  Make them about the size of a golf ball.  Lightly press your thumb in the center of each round. Fill each indentation with a 1/2 teaspoon of Polaner.
  7. Place baking sheet  in the oven to bake for 12-13 minutes, or until *just golden at the edges. They will still be very soft when you remove them from the oven.
  8. Cool on the baking sheet for 10 full minutes, then very carefully transfer to a cooling rack to cool completely.

So how do you Polaner?
