Wildwater Kingdom in Aurora, #Ohio - Fun for everyone! @wildwaterfun #BloggingatWWK

Wildwater Kingdom offers something for everyone!  Looking to cool off  and beat the heat, then hit up Wildwater Kingdom this summer! There’s fun for everyone whether you like to slide, splash, or float down a lazy river.

Wildwater Kingdom is the perfect place for kids. Coral Cove was closed the day we went, but they still had fun climbing, getting dumped on at Splash Landing.  Splash Landing has four stories of water slides, soaking gadgets, geysers, water cannons and a giant bucket dropping 1,000 gallons of water every few minutes. Parents can climb with the children or sit back in the loungers located in front of the landing and watch the kids play and have fun!

Riptide Run is another fun area for families to relax and get wet at the same time. Pick the perfect inner tube, kick back and relax on a 1,100-foot long lazy river. It's the perfect way to cool off on a hot summer day. Watch out as you go under the bridges, guest above you may dump water on you as you float underneath!

At Wildwater Kingdom, they have slides for everyone from thrill-seekers to families. Take the plunge on Liquid Lightning or slide down Thunder Falls!  Due to height requirements, my son was a tad bit too short for the slides. So while I chilled with him on Riptide Run or Splash Landing,  big sis and dad rode the slides together.
Liquid Lighting was the favorite slide of the day! The raft fits up to three people and you fly down a slide into a large funnel.  Make sure you switch up your positions on each ride, as my daughter went first through the tube, it made it go faster!   We called it the large toilet bowl, like you were getting sucked down a toilet!

Big squirt water fun...  We  were not sure what the tall yellow Big Squirt Fill up machines were scattered over the park.  So hubby walked into a shop and was shown one.  So of course we had to buy one for our son.  The Big Squirt is a big tube water gun, it even comes with an adapter for you to fill it at home since you won't have a cool tall yellow filler in your back yard.   They are $7.99 for a solid color or $9.99 for a tie-dyed colored one.   They provide hours or entertainment and my son loved this as his souvenir from the trip (we bought daughter a mood ring with her name on it).

I would also suggest renting a locker.  They range from $10, $12 and $15 for a locker.   It was the best money we spent, you pick the code and no key to worry about.  We saw folks leaving purses, keys, phones and iPads under blankets on their chairs, but not us.  I was not taking that chance, it was conveniently located and the $12 one held two book bags(change of clothes and towels), my small purse and our sunscreen.

Food options were abundant as well.  We saw ice cream, barbecue and pizza places, but opted for the Happy Harbor Cafe for our lunch.  They offered burger, chicken tenders, kid meals, salads, desserts and more.  While there you could also pick up a refillable mug starting at $9.99 (3 or more), $12.99 (2 or more) or $14.99 (for 1).  Then all season long, fill it up for only $.99!  My son opted for the chicken fingers platter, hubby and I each had the cheeseburger platter while our daughter chose the  Aurora club platter.   I don't know if it was because we were extremely hungry from all the fun, but it was a great lunch.  I was surprise at how juicy the burger was and  the amount of fries that came with it.  My son was overjoyed with his chicken tenders and coveted honey mustard dressing. My daughter opted for the Aurora Club, which had a couple cheeses, chicken, lettuce, onion, tomato, etc.  She is a total foodie and loved it.  It was actually to much for her to eat!  We were totally happy with our lunch and all the options they offered!

Make sure to check out Tidal Wave Bay before you leave too!  Bounce and splash in this 390,000 gallon wave pool and watch the kids get worn out.  Take a tour and look at the abandoned roller coasters across the water, feed the ducks and river carp, head to the beach and play some sand games.
