Summer Reading Programs

Don't forget to sign up your kids and possibly yourself for your local summer reading programs at your local library.    I signed up for an adult reading program (at my local library) and each week I submit what books I finished.   I did the same thing last year and won a gift-card!

This past weekend, I hosted a viewing party! To help host the party I was sent some cute pink flower hair clips, EOS Organic Lip Balm Sphere in Strawberry Sorbet, Nubar Nails “Endless Love Pink” nail polishes and the film soundtrack!

Since it was a great weekend, we started the party outside first and then moved on in later in the night to watch the movie!  We enjoyed a great cookout, great food, wine, painting our toes (if you have never tried Nubar Nails Polish... then you must!), great time chatting followed by a great chick flick!  The guys of course partied ways and went to the basement to either watch TV or play cards.  Who knows, we were too engrossed in the film!

I understand this film is a remake of an older film, I never saw the first film, so I have nothing to compare it too.   I adore Alex Pettyfer from his I am Number 4 days (I so wish that movie series would of taken off)!  In this film we are introduced to Jade, a beautiful young woman who has lead such a sheltered life until she falls for David.  She sets aside all her worries, inhibitions and says goodbye to innocence.  

Then chemistry  between Alex Pettyfer and Gabrilla Wilde is so believable! After watching the movie, I popped in the soundtrack and it is such a great compilation and fits the film perfectly, that paired with the imagery/scenery, you get sucked into it all!

This is a great movie, no it is a not an award winner, but just a good movie! It has everything us girls love in romance... great cast, young forbidden love, parents trying to pull the lovebirds apart, hidden pasts, stolen kisses,  etc.   Will Jade and David over all?  Will their romance last with so many obstacles?  Well of course I am not going to tell you how the movie ends!  It is out NOW and a must see! If you are looking for a movie that portrays a nonstop pursuit of happiness at all costs, this is it!

I was recently sent a bottle of the Butterfly Kiss Pink Pinot Grigio.  It is the perfect wine  for patio sipping and enjoying with friends!  My husband is not a huge wine drinker... he will occasionally drink a white glass, but does not like red.  He was leery of the pink and I had to assure him that it is more of a white wine, just a rose color.  Well we both loved it!  It is a light crisp flavor and was perfect for sipping on the back porch on a warm summer day.  I will definitely be checking out the other flavors of this wine and eager to find the Moscato in stores!

Fun Coloring sheets and printable tiaras!

I remember seeing these delightful girls when they were on the Ellen show, so of course when the movie came, my daughter was eager to watch it!  This is definitely a great family friendly movie.  Kids will be laughing and loving the girls and their adventure. These are princesses with a mission to help a future queen fully realize her potential. As a mom, I loved the message it teaches young girls... it is okay to be yourself!  I tell my little girl that all the time, but when movies reinforce it, it helps too! 

It also helps that the music in the show keeps the kids entertained too!  My little girl was up and dancing and singing along.  This is an adorable film for girls about 10 and under!
