Cool off this summer at Wildwater Kingdom #BloggingatWWK #Ohio @wildwaterfun

Wildwater Kingdom offers something for everyone!  Looking to cool off  and beat the heat, then hit up Wildwater Kingdom this summer! There’s fun for everyone whether you like to slide, splash, or float down a lazy river.

Wildwater Kingdom is the perfect place for kids. The younger kids and even older kids alike will love playing in Coral Cove and at Splash Landing.   At Coral Cove Blast you can swim around, get stuck in the circular wave area, squirt your friends, , climb on the giant floating items and more!  My kids loved climbing on the long snake with other children and then trying to stay on and not fall, when it shook with more attempting to climb.  They became very skilled at it!

Splash Landing has four stories of water slides, soaking gadgets, geysers, water cannons and a giant bucket dropping 1,000 gallons of water every few minutes. Parents can climb with the children or sit back in the loungers located in front of the landing and watch the kids play and have fun!  This is perfect for when mom and dad want to relax.  Sit back and watch the kids have fun! There are also conveniently located vests for the younger ones at both locations!

Riptide Run is another fun area for families to relax and get wet at the same time. Pick the perfect inner tube, kick back and relax on a 1,100-foot long lazy river.   Laying there without a care in the world in that cool calming water is the  perfect way to cool off on a hot summer day. Watch out as you go under the bridges, guest above you may dump water on you as you float underneath!  This is one of my favorite areas of the park!

At Wildwater Kingdom, they have slides for everyone from thrill-seekers to families. Take the plunge on Liquid Lightning or slide down Thunder Falls!  At Thunder Falls you climb the 100-foot tower to plunge down one of three enclosed body slides or four inner tube slides!  You'll twist and turn down Ohio's tallest water slide and splash into a refreshing pool at the bottom. Race your friends down the body slides.  Take turns and see who is the fastest.  No matter what color slide our daughter went down, she still came in last!

The magic number is 48.  You must be 48 inches to ride the bigger slides.  My son achieved the 48 inch mark this year and was finally able to ride Liquid Lighting ! The raft fits up to three people and you fly down a slide into a large funnel.  Make sure you switch up your positions on each ride, a it seems that if a smaller person comes out the tube  first you go a bit faster!

I would also suggest renting a locker.  They range from $10, $13 and $18 for a locker.   It was the best money we spent, you pick the code and no key to worry about.  We saw folks leaving purses, keys, phones and iPads under blankets on their chairs.  I was not taking that chance, it was conveniently located and the $10 unit held two book bags (had change of clothes for 4 people and our wallets).  We did leave out towels out on lounge chairs!

Food options were abundant as well.  We saw ice cream, fruit/veggie stand,  barbecue and pizza places, but ate at our favorite place the Happy Harbor Cafe..  They offered burger, chicken tenders, kid meals, salads, desserts and more. We did two cheeseburger meals the chicken fingers and  the Aurora Pretzel club platter.  The burgers were amazing and juicy and the platters came with an abundance of fries as well as a beverage! My son was overjoyed with his chicken tenders and coveted honey mustard dressing. My daughter loved her Aurora Pretzel Club, which had a couple cheeses, chicken, lettuce, onion, tomato, etc. The workers even gave her a side of pickles to later on her sandwich as well!    There is no reason you should go hungry with all the food options they offer!

While there you could also pick up a refillable mug starting at $10.99 (3 or more), $12.99 (2 or more) or $14.99 (for 1).  Free refills the day of purchase and then all season long, fill it up for only $.99!

Make sure to check out Tidal Wave Bay before you leave too!  Bounce and splash in this 390,000 gallon wave pool and watch the kids get worn out.  Take a tour and look at the abandoned roller coasters across the water, feed the ducks and river carp, head to the beach and play some sand games.

This summer, join them  for Dive-In Movies!  Grab an inner tube and swim up to the big screen.  float along in the wave pool, or lay our on a lounger for a fun filled family night!  Even liquid lightening runs  at 8:30!  The park reopens at 8:30pm with movies shortly after 9:00!  Separate movie admission required. $5 for General Public. $3 for Season Passholders.

Check out all the July and August happenings!
