Adorable animation, bright colors, fun characters, songs, storyline, etc. I am a huge fan of the original Wizard of Oz, so even when the Disney Return to Oz came out, I was not a fan of that. So when I sat down with the kids to watch Legends of Oz, I gave it the benefit of doubt, but like the other Oz movies, not a fan personally. That being said both my kids loved it, my daughter was even singing along with the songs.
It is a kid's movie, so since the kids loved it so much, I looked at it from their perspective. The storyline was about staying true to yourself, helping your friends, standing up to bullies (Jester) making new friends, etc. The kids giggled and laughed, even my son got a little emotional when he thought the China Doll Princess was dead. When I asked the kids, they said they would give it 4 out of 5 stars! So if you are looking for a film kids will love, then check out Legends of Oz: Dorothy's Return! It picks up right after the first movie and Dorothy is called back to Oz, this time by a rainbow to help Emerald City all over again!
